The Gourmet Club was founded by Judy Youens in 1998. Youens vision after moving to Santa Fe from Houston, Texas was to create a fun business that people would enjoy sharing and cooking with one another. There are so many restuarants in Santa Fe, but this experience is much more personal that "eating out". You get to cook with the top chefs in Santa Fe. They share with you how they like to cook and present the food. The class are all held in the evening at Youens home on the Old East Side of Santa Fe.
Youens had been an art dealer in Houston and she wanted to continue work with artists, so she chose the chefs as her artists. Judy loves cooking and has been cooking herself since her childhood. She said," I wanted a business that I did not have to pack up and ship and she wanted instant gravification". Cooking seemed to fill that bill. Her guess are always happy when they leave and everyone has had a good time.
